Artists
Donna the Buffalo is an American roots band formed in upstate New York in 1989. Their music covers folk, country, rock, reggae and zydeco, and their best-known recordings include the album Positive Friction and the song “No Place Like the Right Time.” Donna the Buffalo helped found the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance in Trumansburg in 1991 and has returned to perform at the festival throughout its history. The band has also appeared at MerleFest in Wilkesboro and FloydFest in Virginia while touring clubs and theatres around the United States. Donna the Buffalo performs as a full band led by founding songwriters Tara Nevins on vocals, fiddle and accordion, and Jeb Puryear on vocals and guitar, backed by bass, keyboards and drums.
Assembly of Dust is an American roots-rock and jam band formed in 2002 by singer-songwriter Reid Genauer after his time with Strangefolk. Folk and bluegrass elements run through albums including Recollection and Some Assembly Required, while “All That I Am” and “Second Song” are among the group’s established songs. The Honest Hour documented the band performing at New York’s Tribeca Rock Club and established improvisation as a central part of its concert format. The group later brought that approach to festivals including Bonnaroo and Gathering of the Vibes.
