Artist
Downtown Boys are an American punk band formed in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2011. Their fast, saxophone-driven songs carry political lyrics in English and Spanish, led by vocalist Victoria Ruiz. The band is known for the albums Full Communism and Cost of Living, and for songs including “A Wall” and “Somos Chulas (No Somos Pendejas).” In 2017, Downtown Boys performed at Coachella and recorded a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR’s Washington headquarters during the Cost of Living period. Their live work has also reached European club and festival stages, including Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
