Drag The River is an American alt-country band formed in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1996 by singers and guitarists Jon Snodgrass and Chad Price. The group plays country and Americana shaped by its members’ punk backgrounds, heard on albums including Closed, It’s Crazy and You Can’t Live This Way. The 2002 album Live at the Starlight documents the band in a small-club setting. Drag The River subsequently toured clubs in the United States and Europe and also performed at The Fest in Gainesville.
Tim Barry is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Richmond, Virginia. He fronts the punk band Avail, played bass in the folk-punk group (Young) Pioneers, and has pursued acoustic, country-influenced folk music as a solo artist since 2004. His solo releases include Rivanna Junction, Manchester, 28th & Stonewall, Lost & Rootless and High on 95; Rivanna Junction draws directly on his life in the city and time beside the James River. Avail toured internationally and released six studio albums during Tim Barry’s time as frontman. His subsequent solo performances brought that writing into an acoustic format, and Raising Hell & Living Cheap documents one such concert. He also joined the acoustic Revival Tour with Chuck Ragan, Ben Nichols and Frank Turner.
