The Dresden Dolls are an American punk-cabaret duo formed in Boston in 2000 by singer and pianist Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione. Their self-titled debut introduced songs including “Girl Anachronism” and “Coin-Operated Boy,” while Yes, Virginia... featured “Sing.” In 2005, the duo opened for Nine Inch Nails on dates of the With Teeth tour. The following year they filmed Live at the Roundhouse in London, and after a period apart they reunited for concerts in 2010 before returning to a full US tour in 2023. The concert setup centers on the duo’s core instrumentation: Amanda Palmer sings and plays piano, while Brian Viglione plays drums.
