Drivin N Cryin in Hamden

Drivin N Cryin is an American rock band formed in Atlanta in 1985, led by singer and guitarist Kevn Kinney. Their music draws on Southern rock, hard rock and country-rooted songwriting; the band is best known for “Straight to Hell,” “Honeysuckle Blue” and “Fly Me Courageous,” as well as the albums Mystery Road and Fly Me Courageous. R.E.M. brought Drivin N Cryin onto dates of the Green tour in 1989, placing the band in arenas after its early years in southeastern clubs. In 1991, they performed at Farm Aid at Texas Stadium in Irving during the period surrounding Fly Me Courageous. Their guitar-led shows have remained rooted in Kinney’s songs, including performances at the 40 Watt Club in Athens.
