Duran Duran in Brussels

Duran Duran are an English band formed in Birmingham in 1978, known for new wave and synth-pop built around keyboards, guitar and dance rhythms. The album Rio and songs including “Girls on Film,” “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “The Reflex,” “A View to a Kill” and “Ordinary World” established their catalogue, while their stylized videos became central to their early MTV presence. The 1984 documentary Sing Blue Silver followed the band’s North American arena tour behind Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Their 1985 appearance at Live Aid in Philadelphia was the original five-member lineup’s final performance before its reunion nearly two decades later. The reunited lineup returned to arenas on the Astronaut Tour, which included shows at Wembley Arena. The United Kingdom and United States have hosted a large share of the band’s concerts. They have headlined Hyde Park in London and performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
