eastern youth is a Japanese punk and post-hardcore trio formed in Sapporo in 1988. Their emotionally direct guitar rock is represented by albums including Tabiji ni Kisetsu ga Moe Ochiru and Kanjusei Ōtō Seyo, as well as songs such as “Natsu no Hi no Gogo.” The band established the self-organized Kyokutō Saisen concert series as a recurring part of its live history, staging editions at Shibuya Club Quattro and taking touring versions through Japan’s live-house circuit. The group performs as a guitar, bass and drums trio, led by vocalist and guitarist Hisashi Yoshino. eastern youth has also appeared at Fuji Rock Festival in Naeba and Rising Sun Rock Festival in Ishikari.
