Eat Static is an English electronic music project formed in 1989 by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, who were also members of Ozric Tentacles. Its music covers psychedelic trance, techno, breakbeat and ambient electronics; notable releases include Abduction, Implant and Science of the Gods, plus the tracks “Lost in Time” and “Bony Incus”. Eat Static made its live debut at Glastonbury Festival in 1990. The duo then became closely associated with Club Dog and Megadog events, performing at club nights and touring events around Britain during the 1990s. Following Joie Hinton’s departure, Merv Pepler carried Eat Static forward as a solo live act and performed at Ozora Festival.
