Ed Byrne in Southend-on-Sea

Ed Byrne is an Irish stand-up comedian and actor, born in Swords, County Dublin, in 1972. His material centres on observational comedy; appearances on Mock the Week and QI brought his stand-up to television audiences. At the 1998 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, his show A Night at the Opera was nominated for the Perrier Award. He later toured theatres in the UK and Ireland with solo shows including Crowd Pleaser, Roaring Forties, Outside, Looking In and Spoiler Alert. After If I'm Honest... came Tragedy Plus Time, which addressed the death of his younger brother Paul. He has played London on successive theatre tours and returned to Glasgow for stand-up dates.
