About El Drogas
El Drogas is the stage name of Spanish rock singer, bassist and songwriter Enrique Villarreal, who was born in Pamplona. He founded Barricada and became known for the band’s hard-edged urban rock, including “No hay tregua” and “En blanco y negro.” His later work includes the group Txarrena and albums released as El Drogas, among them Demasiado tonto en la corteza and Solo quiero brujas en esta noche sin compañía.
A 2016 concert at the Ciudadela in Pamplona was documented on the live release Un día nada más and featured guests including Rosendo, Fito Cabrales and Carlos Tarque. Six years later, El Drogas marked four decades of music with an extended anniversary concert drawing on songs by Barricada, Txarrena and his solo catalogue at Navarra Arena.
