El Fantasma & Los Huracanes del Norte in Brooklyn

El Fantasma is the stage name of Mexican singer-songwriter Alexander García, a native of San José de Cañas, Durango, who performs regional Mexican music. He established his recording career with the album Equipo Armado and songs including “Mi 45,” “Vengo a Aclarar,” “Palabra de Hombre” and “El Circo.” The live album En Vivo Desde Badiraguato documented his concert repertoire in a setting closely associated with corrido music. His Cabrones y Vagos Tour later paired him with Los Dos Carnales for arena and theatre concerts in the United States.

Los Huracanes del Norte are a Mexican norteño group formed in 1969 by members of the García family. Their music covers corridos, rancheras and romantic songs, with accordion and saxophone central to recordings such as “La Hielera” and “911.” The band has spent decades touring on both sides of the Mexico–United States border. Its concerts have served audiences for regional Mexican music in dance halls, theatres, arenas and festival settings across both countries. Los Huracanes del Norte perform as a full norteño ensemble featuring accordion, saxophone, bajo sexto, bass and drums. Corridos remain a central part of the set, including “El Gato de Chihuahua.”
