El Kuelgue in San Juan

El Kuelgue is an Argentine band formed in Buenos Aires in 2004 and fronted by singer and actor Julián Kartun. Its music draws on alternative rock, pop, funk, jazz and Latin rhythms, while improvisation and humor are central to its identity. The group is known for albums including Beatriz, Ruli and Cariño Reptil, as well as songs such as “Sinoca,” “Circunvalación” and “Parque acuático.” In 2019, El Kuelgue celebrated its 15th anniversary with a concert at Luna Park. The band has also performed at Cosquín Rock and Lollapalooza Argentina, bringing its improvisation-led repertoire to major festival stages. An El Kuelgue concert is a full-band performance in which established songs leave room for altered arrangements and improvised passages. Spoken digressions and comic characters are also part of the format, led by Julián Kartun.
