About Elymar Santos
Elymar Santos is a Brazilian singer from Rio de Janeiro whose repertoire centers on romantic popular song, bolero and samba. He is particularly associated with the songs “Taras e Manias” and “Escancarando de Vez.”
In 1985, Elymar Santos rented Canecão at his own expense and drew a full house for a self-produced concert. Staged after years of singing in nightclubs, the concert became the key live event in his emergence as a recording artist in Rio de Janeiro.
