Emma Ruth Rundle in Washington

Emma Ruth Rundle is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Los Angeles in 1983. Her solo work moves through stark folk, ambient guitar and heavy rock, while her earlier band history includes Red Sparowes and Marriages. She is known for albums including Some Heavy Ocean, Marked for Death, On Dark Horses and the piano-led Engine of Hell, as well as May Our Chambers Be Full, recorded with Thou. In 2022, Rundle toured Engine of Hell as a solo performance built around voice, piano and guitar. That year she was an artist in residence at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, where her program included an Engine of Hell set and the premiere of Dowsing Voice.

Cinder Well is an American dark-folk project led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Amelia Baker. Raised in California and later based in County Clare, Ireland, Baker writes stark folk songs shaped by Appalachian balladry and Irish traditional music. The project’s principal releases include The Unconscious Echo, No Summer and Cadence. Cinder Well has toured intimate venues in Europe and North America around No Summer and Cadence. Festival performances during the latter album’s period included Roadburn in Tilburg and Le Guess Who? in Utrecht.
