Emmylou Harris in Antwerp

Emmylou Harris is an American singer-songwriter and musician, born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1947, whose work spans country, folk and Americana. She became known through her recordings with Gram Parsons and a solo catalogue that includes Pieces of Sky, Elite Hotel, Luxury Liner and Wrecking Ball. “Boulder to Birmingham” and “Two More Bottles of Wine” are among her signature songs. In 1975, Harris formed the Hot Band, whose early lineup included guitarist James Burton and singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell. In the late 1990s she toured with the group Spyboy, featuring Buddy Miller, Daryl Johnson and Brady Blade, and documented that lineup on a live album. She later toured with Crowell in support of their collaborative records Old Yellow Moon and The Traveling Kind. London’s Royal Albert Hall has hosted her full-band concerts. In 1991, performances with the Nash Ramblers at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville were recorded for At the Ryman.
