Engelbert Humperdinck in Lincoln

Engelbert Humperdinck is a British pop and easy-listening singer, born Arnold George Dorsey in Madras in 1936 and raised in Leicester. His 1967 recording of “Release Me” established the stage name he had recently adopted, followed by songs including “The Last Waltz,” “A Man Without Love” and “Quando Quando Quando.” Engagements at the Riviera began his long association with Las Vegas, where he became a frequent showroom performer. He later recorded a concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall for a live album, and in 2017 he marked five decades since “Release Me” with the 50th Anniversary Tour.

Crystal Gayle is an American country and country-pop singer, born Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, Kentucky, in 1951 and raised in Wabash, Indiana. Her signature recording is “Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” from the album We Must Believe in Magic; her other well-known songs include “Talking in Your Sleep” and “Half the Way.” At 16, Crystal Gayle first performed on the Grand Ole Opry, and after high school she joined Loretta Lynn’s road show. In 2016, Carrie Underwood invited her to join its cast during a performance at Ryman Auditorium; Loretta Lynn formally inducted her the following year.
