Etran de L'AÏr is a guitar group formed in Agadez, Niger, in 1995. The family band plays Saharan rock rooted in Tuareg guitar music, built around interlocking electric-guitar lines, steady percussion and group vocals. Its recordings include the albums No. 1, Agadez and 100% Sahara Guitar. Etran de L'AÏr spent its first decades performing at weddings and community celebrations in its home region. After No. 1 received an international release, the group began touring clubs and festivals outside Niger; a full-band session for KEXP in Seattle documented its interlocking guitar format onstage.
