Evanescence is an American rock band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer and pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. The band plays alternative metal and dark, piano-led rock, and became widely known through the album Fallen and the songs “Bring Me to Life,” “My Immortal” and “Going Under.” The Fallen Tour took Evanescence around the world after the debut album’s release, and a 2004 concert at Le Zénith in Paris became the live album and film Anywhere but Home. The Open Door Tour followed the band’s second album, while Synthesis Live placed its songs in orchestral arrangements in 2017. In 2022, Evanescence toured Europe alongside Within Temptation on the Worlds Collide Tour. The band has also performed at Download Festival in England and Rock am Ring in Germany.
