Fabiano do Nascimento in Los Angeles

Fabiano do Nascimento is a Brazilian guitarist and composer, born in Rio de Janeiro and based in Los Angeles. He plays seven-string guitar in music shaped by samba, choro, Afro-Brazilian traditions and jazz; his principal recordings include Dança dos Tempos, Tempo dos Mestres, Prelúdio and Das Nuvens, a collaboration with Sam Gendel. His Tiny Desk (Home) Concert documented a solo performance centered on seven-string guitar, where melody, bass movement and rhythm are carried within the same arrangements. He also performs in small ensembles that place the guitar at the center of the set, while the filmed solo concert was presented by NPR.
