Fake Names is an American punk band formed in 2016 by musicians from several established hardcore and post-hardcore groups. The lineup brought together Dennis Lyxzén of Refused, Brian Baker of Minor Threat and Bad Religion, Michael Hampton of Embrace, and Johnny Temple of Girls Against Boys; Brendan Canty of Fugazi later took over on drums. Their recordings include the self-titled album Fake Names, the songs “Brick” and “All for Sale,” and the follow-up album Expendables. The band gave its first public performance at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn in 2019. Plans to tour behind the debut album were interrupted by the pandemic, and Fake Names undertook its first tour in 2023 after releasing Expendables. The US club run included a performance at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.
