About Faust
Faust are a German experimental rock group formed in 1971 in Wümme. Their work draws on rock, electronics, tape collage and musique concrète; the albums Faust, Faust So Far, The Faust Tapes and Faust IV established their catalogue, alongside pieces including “Krautrock” and “Jennifer.”
A 1973 British tour paired Faust with Henry Cow, who opened the shows. After core members reunited in 1990, the group undertook its first US tour in 1994; recordings from that visit formed Rien, assembled by Jim O’Rourke.
