About Six Organs Of Admittance
Six Organs Of Admittance is an American experimental folk project founded by guitarist and songwriter Ben Chasny in 1998. Acoustic fingerpicking, electric guitar, drone and psychedelia shape records including School of the Flower, The Sun Awakens, Ascent and Hexadic.
In 2012, concerts supporting Ascent presented the project as a full electric band, emphasizing the album’s heavier rock arrangements. This expanded a live history in which Chasny has also performed solo sets built around guitar and voice; the Ascent lineup drew on musicians from Comets on Fire.
