Foghat is an English rock band formed in London in 1971 by Dave Peverett, Roger Earl, Tony Stevens and Rod Price. Their blues-rooted hard rock and boogie became closely associated with “Slow Ride,” “Fool for the City” and their version of “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” as well as the albums Fool for the City and Foghat Live. The 1977 concert album Foghat Live documented a set drawn from the band’s heavy touring years. Foghat performed at California Jam II at Ontario Motor Speedway the following year, appearing on the same concert lineup as Aerosmith, Santana and Ted Nugent. The band continues to play American theaters, casinos and rock festivals, led by founding drummer Roger Earl.
Nazareth is a Scottish hard-rock band formed in Dunfermline in 1968. The group became known for Dan McCafferty’s rasping vocals and songs including “Love Hurts,” “Hair of the Dog” and “This Flight Tonight,” as well as the albums Razamanaz and Hair of the Dog. In 1972, Nazareth supported Deep Purple on tour, a connection that led bassist Roger Glover to produce Razamanaz. In 1981, the band recorded its concert at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver for the double live album Snaz.
