Francesco De Gregori in Assisi

Francesco De Gregori is an Italian singer-songwriter, born in Rome in 1951, whose work draws on folk and rock within the cantautore tradition. His best-known recordings include “Rimmel,” “Generale,” “La donna cannone” and “Alice,” while the albums Rimmel and Titanic are central to his catalogue. The 1979 Banana Republic tour paired him with Lucio Dalla and produced a concert album of the same name. They reunited for the Work in Progress tour in 2010, again documenting the collaboration on record. In 2022, he and Antonello Venditti performed at Stadio Olimpico before taking their joint repertoire around Italy on the Venditti & De Gregori tour.
