Fred Armisen is an American comedian, actor, writer and musician, born in 1966 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A former drummer for the punk band Trenchmouth, he became widely known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and as the co-creator and star of Portlandia and Documentary Now! Fred Armisen: Standup for Drummers was filmed at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and released in 2018. Built around percussion, musical subcultures and vocal impressions, the special established the format he later brought to theatres in Comedy for Musicians but Everyone Is Welcome.
