Free Throw & Microwave in Pomona

Free Throw is an American emo band formed in Nashville in 2012. Its music pairs the interlocking guitars of Midwest emo with punk and pop-punk energy. The band is particularly known for its debut album, Those Days Are Gone, and the song “Two Beers In,” followed by records including Bear Your Mind and What’s Past Is Prologue. In 2024, Free Throw marked the tenth anniversary of Those Days Are Gone with a North American headline tour and performed the album in full. Ben Quad, Harrison Gordon and Carpool supported the band across the run.

Microwave is an American alternative-rock band formed in Atlanta in 2012. They play emo-rooted rock with post-hardcore weight, documented across the albums Stovall, Much Love, Death Is a Warm Blanket and Let’s Start Degeneracy. “Vomit,” “Lighterless” and “Dull” are among their best-known songs. A 2016 U.S. tour supporting The Wonder Years brought Microwave to clubs across the country. The band later led a 2022 North American run featuring Oso Oso, Delta Sleep and Mothé, then headlined the Let’s Start Degeneracy Tour in 2024.
