Friko in Ferndale

Friko is an American indie-rock band formed in Chicago by guitarist and singer Niko Kapetan and drummer Bailey Minzenberger. The group’s debut album, Where we’ve been, Where we go from here, arrived in 2024 and introduced its noise-pop and chamber-pop songwriting through tracks including “Crashing Through,” “Get Numb to It!” and “For Ella.” In 2024, Friko marked the album’s release with a show at Metro, then performed at Pitchfork Music Festival and joined Royel Otis for North American dates. Those appearances established the group in clubs and on festival stages beyond its Chicago base, including shows with Royel Otis.
