Fruit Bats in Washington

Fruit Bats are an American indie-folk and rock band formed in Chicago in 1997 by singer-songwriter Eric D. Johnson. The band is known for albums including Mouthfuls, Spelled in Bones and The Ruminant Band, as well as songs such as “When U Love Somebody” and “Humbug Mountain Song.” Fruit Bats ended their initial run with an announced farewell concert at Lincoln Hall in Chicago in 2013. Johnson revived the band in 2015, returning it to club and theatre tours; later festival appearances included Pickathon in Oregon and the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

Sarah Klang is a Swedish singer-songwriter, born in Gothenburg in 1992, whose music draws on melancholy pop, country and Americana. She is known for songs including “Sleep,” “Left Me on Fire” and “Lover,” and for the albums Love in the Milky Way, Creamy Blue, Virgo and Mercedes. Sarah Klang performed at Way Out West in Gothenburg in 2016, before her first album was released. After Love in the Milky Way, she played headline dates across Sweden and took her full-band show to clubs and theatres elsewhere in Europe. Concerts built around Virgo and Mercedes later included Stockholm and London.
