Fumiya Fujii in Chiyoda City

Fumiya Fujii is a Japanese pop singer, songwriter and actor, born in Kurume in 1962. He first became known as the lead vocalist of The Checkers, whose songs included “Namida no Request,” before beginning a solo career in 1993. “TRUE LOVE” and “Another Orion” became signature works from his solo catalogue. The Checkers ended their performing career with a 1992 farewell concert at Nippon Budokan, a venue Fujii later revisited for solo performances. He went on to stage New Year’s Eve countdown concerts and nationwide hall tours, followed by the FUMIYA FUJII 40th Anniversary Tour 2023-2024.
