Fuyumi Sakamoto in Tokyo

Fuyumi Sakamoto is a Japanese singer of enka and kayōkyoku, born in Wakayama Prefecture in 1967. She made her recording debut with “Abare Daiko” in 1987. Her best-known repertoire includes “Yozakura Oshichi” and her rendition of “Mata Kimi ni Koishiteru,” which became a crossover hit. NHK’s year-end Kōhaku Uta Gassen has featured Fuyumi Sakamoto repeatedly since 1988, making televised live performance a long-running part of her career. She also tours theatres and civic halls across Japan, including concert dates in Tokyo and Osaka.
