Gary Clark Jr. in Boston

Gary Clark Jr. is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Austin, Texas, in 1984. His music draws on blues, rock, soul and R&B, and he is known for songs including “Bright Lights,” “When My Train Pulls In” and “This Land,” as well as the albums Blak and Blu and This Land. Gary Clark Jr. performed at the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival at Toyota Park, an event organized by Eric Clapton, and took part in the 2012 Red, White and Blues concert at the White House. He later opened selected shows on the Rolling Stones’ 50 & Counting tour and Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways World Tour. He followed those appearances with the This Land Tour, performing as lead singer and electric guitarist with a full band.

Dumpstaphunk is an American funk band formed in New Orleans in 2003 by keyboardist and singer Ivan Neville. The group plays bass-heavy funk with elements of soul and rock, and its catalogue includes the albums Listen Hear, Dirty Word and Where Do We Go from Here, as well as songs such as “Dancin’ to the Truth” and “Justice.” Dumpstaphunk first performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2003, where Ivan Neville assembled the original lineup for a festival engagement. The group went on to play clubs, theatres and festivals across the United States, and in 2019 opened for the Rolling Stones at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
