Artist
Gene Watson is an American country singer, born in Palestine, Texas, in 1943. His traditional country and honky-tonk repertoire includes “Love in the Hot Afternoon,” “Farewell Party,” “Fourteen Carat Mind” and “Paper Rosie.” His longtime road band, named for “Farewell Party,” has accompanied him through decades of theatre, fair and country-music performances. After many appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, Watson was invited to become a member by Vince Gill in 2020 and formally inducted by Steve Wariner.
