Generation X in Duisburg

Generation X are a British punk band formed in London in 1976 by singer Billy Idol and bassist Tony James. Part of the first wave of UK punk, they are known for songs including “Your Generation,” “Ready Steady Go,” “King Rocker” and “Dancing with Myself,” as well as the albums Generation X and Valley of the Dolls. Generation X gave their first concert at London’s Central School of Art and Design in 1976. Soon afterward, they became the first band to perform at the newly opened Roxy, placing them at the centre of the club’s early punk programme in Covent Garden.
