Geoff Tate is an American singer and songwriter, born in Stuttgart in 1959, who is best known as the longtime lead vocalist of progressive-metal band Queensrÿche. His voice is central to albums including Operation: Mindcrime, Empire and Promised Land, as well as the songs “Eyes of a Stranger” and “Silent Lucidity.” The Building Empires tour took Queensrÿche into arenas in 1990 and 1991, and the concerts included a complete theatrical presentation of Operation: Mindcrime. The band also performed at Rock in Rio in 1991. As a solo headliner, Tate has repeatedly toured complete albums, including an anniversary production of Operation: Mindcrime and a two-album program devoted to Rage for Order and Empire.
