Ringsgwandl in Gersthofen

Ringsgwandl is the stage name of German singer-songwriter, musician and cabaret performer Georg Ringsgwandl, who was born in Bad Reichenhall in 1948. He writes mainly in Bavarian dialect, setting sharply observed stories to rock, blues and folk-based music; “Nix mitnehma” is among his best-known songs. He trained as a doctor and worked in medicine before making performance his full-time profession. Ringsgwandl has toured German-speaking theatres and cabaret houses with shows that combine his singing and guitar playing, a backing band and spoken passages. His music-theatre works “Tankstelle der Verdammten” and “Der varreckte Hof” were staged at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
