Gianna Nannini is an Italian rock singer-songwriter, born in Siena in 1954. The album California and its single “America” established her distinctive raspy voice, while “Fotoromanza,” “Bello e impossibile” and “I Maschi” became central songs in her catalogue. In 1990, she performed “Un’estate italiana” with Edoardo Bennato at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Milan. Decades of touring have taken her through theatres and arenas across Europe; the Hitstory Tour revisited her catalogue in 2016, followed by the Fenomenale Tour in 2018.
