Gilbert Montagné in Boulogne-sur-Mer

Gilbert Montagné is a French singer-songwriter and pianist, born in Paris in 1951. He first became known through the English-language song “The Fool” and later established a repertoire of French pop and variété led by “On va s’aimer,” “Les Sunlights des tropiques” and “Liberté.” Gilbert Montagné has presented his piano-led repertoire at the Olympia, a performance documented in his live discography. He later took part in the Les Enfoirés charity concerts and performed in the touring revue Âge tendre et têtes de bois, where singers associated with French variété returned to their best-known songs.
