Gilla Band are an Irish noise-rock quartet formed in Dublin in 2011 and originally billed as Girl Band. Their abrasive, rhythm-heavy post-punk is documented on the albums Holding Hands with Jamie, The Talkies and Most Normal, while “Lawman” and “Paul” are among their best-known tracks. A 2016 hometown concert at Vicar Street was later issued as Live at Vicar Street. After adopting the Gilla Band name in 2021, the group returned to touring around Most Normal, playing clubs, theatres and festivals in Europe and North America. The live lineup consists of Dara Kiely on vocals, Alan Duggan on guitar, Daniel Fox on bass and Adam Faulkner on drums. Guitar effects, distorted bass and tightly repeated rhythms are central to the quartet’s stage sound. They have played Primavera Sound in Barcelona and later appeared at Wide Awake in London.
