The trio plays original music rooted in the traditional fiddle styles of central Norway. Its debut album, Ankomst, received the Spellemann Award in the folk category, and was followed by releases including Aurum and Reise. Gjermund Larsen Trio performs with fiddle, piano or harmonium, and double bass. The group has presented this format at folk and world-music events including Førde Traditional and World Music Festival in Norway and Celtic Connections in Glasgow.
