Glasvegas in Glasgow

Glasvegas are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 2003 and led by singer and guitarist James Allan. Dense, reverberant guitars and direct storytelling shaped their self-titled 2008 debut, which includes “Geraldine,” “Daddy’s Gone” and “Flowers & Football Tops.” The band followed it with albums including Euphoric /// Heartbreak \\\ and Later...When the TV Turns to Static. After performing at Glastonbury Festival and T in the Park in 2008, Glasvegas headlined the 2009 NME Awards Tour, whose lineup also included Friendly Fires, White Lies and Florence and the Machine. Later that year, the band opened for U2 at Hampden Park.
