Gordi in Glasgow

Gordi is the recording name of Australian singer-songwriter Sophie Payten, who grew up in Canowindra, New South Wales. She makes electronic folk and indie pop, pairing layered production with a low, measured vocal. Her best-known work includes the albums Reservoir and Our Two Skins, and the songs “Can We Work It Out” and “Heaven I Know.” During her early international touring, Gordi performed at SXSW in Austin and The Great Escape in Brighton, and opened for Of Monsters and Men and Bon Iver. She later played headline dates connected to Reservoir and Our Two Skins. In Australia, she presented a filmed performance at the Sydney Opera House.
