Grace Petrie in Nottingham

Grace Petrie is an English folk singer-songwriter and guitarist from Leicester whose work centres on politics, social justice and queer life. Her best-known songs include “Farewell to Welfare” and “Black Tie”, while her albums include Queer as Folk, Connectivity and Build Something Better. Billy Bragg invited Petrie to perform on the Left Field stage at Glastonbury after hearing “Farewell to Welfare”. She later toured with comedian Josie Long and established her own theatre dates, performing solo with acoustic guitar or with the Resistance Band. Her festival appearances have included Greenbelt Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival.
