Graham Parker in London

Graham Parker is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in London in 1950, who led Graham Parker and the Rumour through the pub-rock and new-wave era. Albums including Howlin’ Wind, Heat Treatment and Squeezing Out Sparks established his taut, rhythm-led rock and forceful vocal style; “Local Girls,” “You Can’t Be Too Strong” and “Hey Lord, Don’t Ask Me Questions” remain central songs in his catalogue. The 1979 concerts supporting Squeezing Out Sparks supplied performances for the promotional live album Live Sparks. After the original group split, Parker toured under his own name in solo acoustic form and with backing bands. He reunited Graham Parker and the Rumour for Three Chords Good in 2012 and returned to the stage with the original lineup, including guitarists Brinsley Schwarz and Martin Belmont.
