Grave Digger are a German heavy metal band formed in Gladbeck in 1980 and led by vocalist Chris Boltendahl. Their catalogue includes the early album Heavy Metal Breakdown and the medieval-themed records Tunes of War, Knights of the Cross and Excalibur; “Rebellion (The Clans Are Marching)” became a signature song. The band’s 2001 performance at Wacken Open Air was released as the concert album and video Tunes of Wacken. Grave Digger later marked their 25th anniversary with the concert documented on 25 to Live, recorded in São Paulo in 2005.
Motorjesus are a German hard-rock and heavy-metal band from Mönchengladbach that began under the name The Shitheadz. Their riff-driven catalogue includes the albums Wheels of Purgatory, Electric Revelation, Race to Resurrection and Hellbreaker, as well as songs such as “Motor Discipline” and “King of the Dead End Road.” Motorjesus played their early concerts as The Shitheadz before taking their present name into rock clubs and onto festival stages. Their festival history includes Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen and Summer Breeze Open Air in Dinkelsbühl.
