Greg Osby in Barcelona

Greg Osby is an American jazz saxophonist and composer, born in St. Louis in 1960. After studying at Howard University and Berklee College of Music, he became a founding member of the M-Base Collective. His music draws on contemporary jazz, funk and hip-hop, and his recordings include Further Ado, Zero and Symbols of Light. He recorded for JMT and Blue Note before establishing Inner Circle Music. In 1997, he recorded the live album Banned in New York at the jazz club Sweet Basil. He later toured as a saxophonist with The Dead.
