About Grits
Grits is an American Christian hip-hop duo formed in Nashville in 1995 by Teron “Bonafide” Carter and Stacy “Coffee” Jones. They are best known for “Ooh Ahh (My Life Be Like)” featuring TobyMac, while albums including The Art of Translation and Dichotomy B established their mix of faith-based lyrics and Southern rap.
Before releasing records as Grits, Carter and Jones worked as dancers in DC Talk’s live show; after forming the duo, they returned to the road as a rap act on tours with DC Talk.
