About Groundation
Groundation is an American roots-reggae band formed in Sonoma County, California, in 1998 by Harrison Stafford, Marcus Urani and Ryan Newman. Its music draws on dub and jazz improvisation, and albums including Each One Teach One, Hebron Gate and We Free Again established the group’s sound.
The concert release Live It Up documented Groundation’s early stage repertoire and the extended arrangements used by its full band. The group has returned repeatedly to European reggae festivals, performing at Rototom Sunsplash in Spain and Summerjam in Germany.
