Grupo Niche in Elizabeth

Grupo Niche is a Colombian salsa orchestra founded in Bogotá in 1979 by composer and bandleader Jairo Varela. Closely associated with Cali, the group is known for songs including “Cali Pachanguero,” “Una Aventura,” “Gotas de Lluvia” and “Sin Sentimiento,” as well as the album Cielo de Tambores. The group performed at Madison Square Garden in New York in 1986. In later years, the full salsa orchestra returned repeatedly for performances during Feria de Cali.
