Grupo Revelação & Xande de Pilares in Curitiba

Grupo Revelação is a Brazilian pagode and samba group formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1991. The group became known for songs including “Deixa Acontecer,” “Tá Escrito,” “Coração Radiante” and “Velocidade da Luz,” built around ensemble vocals, cavaquinho and samba percussion. Ao Vivo no Olimpo documented the group in concert at the Olimpo venue in Rio de Janeiro and became a central release in its catalogue. Grupo Revelação later recorded Ao Vivo no Morro at Morro da Urca, continuing its close association with large communal samba performances in Rio.

Xande de Pilares is a Brazilian samba and pagode singer-songwriter, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1969. He is known for his long tenure as the lead singer of Grupo Revelação, whose repertoire includes “Deixa Acontecer,” “Tá Escrito” and “Coração Radiante.” His solo work began with the album Perseverança. In 2002, Xande de Pilares fronted Grupo Revelação for the live recording Ao Vivo no Olimpo at Olimpo. He later led the group’s Ao Vivo no Morro performance at Morro da Urca before embarking on a solo career. His later concerts included Xande Canta Caetano, a program devoted to the songs of Caetano Veloso.
