Guaco in Atlanta

Guaco is a Venezuelan group formed in Maracaibo in 1960. It began as a gaita zuliana ensemble and developed a broader tropical sound built around salsa, Latin pop, brass and percussion. Its best-known songs include “Todo quedó, quedó,” “Si usted la viera” and “Lágrimas no más,” while singer Gustavo Aguado has been a central figure in the group’s long history. For decades, Guaco has performed at Feria de La Chinita, the annual celebration closely associated with gaita zuliana. The group later carried its large ensemble format to concert halls and festivals beyond Venezuela, including an appearance at Chile’s Festival de Viña del Mar in 2018.
